SHREDZ Burner Review

|

Burner from Shredz is a fat burner that’s been getting a lot of attention recently in the supplements industry.

But marketing is one thing, and results are another, so the main question people are asking is does it work?

One their website Shredz claim Burner, helps people:

  • Reach their fitness goals
  • Improve Energy
  • Better workoutsshredz-burner1

These are definitely good features, but they’re not an explanation of how it works.

We dug a little deeper into this product and found some quite interesting results:

About the Company

Shredz are one of the more known supplement companies to do their marketing right. They’ve got some big names behind them and some great looking products.

The only issue with Shredz is that they’re usually expensive, and a lot of style over actual substance.

They look good, but their results are usually questionable, making their products more of a fashion statement than a tool.

Here’s what we found:

The Ingredients and how they work

The servings in SHREDZ Burner aren’t great. With only 2 servings a day there’s only so much your body can get out of this supplement.

To burn fat around the clock you need around 3 -4 servings a day. This gives your body a constant supply of the nutrients it needs and allows you to keep cutting fat.

So we’re off to a bad start, and the ingredients aren’t much better.

Although there are a few good choices here, the main issue with Shredz Burner is that they all fall under a proprietary blend. This means all the values of each nutrient are hidden, and we have no real idea how much we’re getting in each supplement.

Here are the most noteworthy ingredients in Shredz Burner:shredz-burner-supplement-facts

Caffeine Anhydrous

One of the better fat burning ingredients out there.

Caffeine is the natural stimulant that we’re all familiar with that helps promote both energy and metabolism.

Cocoa (Theobromine)

Usually found in foods like dark chocolate. Cocoa may offer some cognitive benefits, and help with blood flow.

However, we don’t know how much is in Shredz Burner, and whether or not it will be effective in this case.

Cayenne Pepper

One of the better thermogenics out there. Being a hot chili, the pepper helps to raise your core temperature which your body then starts to regulate in a cool down process – giving a mighty thermogenic effect.

Green Tea

Also a high end thermogenic. Green Tea contains catechins that, when absorbed by the body, provoke a release of the fat burning hormone norepinephrine. It also gives you a slight caffeinated energy boost.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine

This amino acid is great for boosting both energy and metabolism, and it is common in most fat burners and pre-workouts.

The only problem is the dosage.

For L-Carnitine to have any decent effect you need at least 500mg per serving, and in Shredz Burner we have no idea how much we’re getting – and if there’s an effective dose in here.

Yohimbe Extract

Yohimbine Bark is a risky one. Although it may help with appetite suppression, it has the tendency to cause side effects if it’s over a certian dosage. You can find out more about that in the side effects section below.

Higenamine HCl

Originally Higenamine was used as a treatment for asthma. It’s makes up  part of the Nandina plant and is now being marketed as a fat burner, with companies claiming it has similar effects to Ephedrine.

However there is barely any evidence to support this, and the studies that do aren’t the most reliable. Also remember we don’t know how much of this nutrient we’re getting in this product.

Synephrine HCl

Potentially one of the worst fat burners in the industry. Synephrine HCl has little evidence behind it to support it as a fat burner, but a lot to support it for causing side effects – especially when mixed with Green Tea or Caffeine.shredz-burner1

On the whole, Shredz Burner’s nutrient profile lacks several of the core ingredients to ensure effective fat burning. There’s also the issue of the proprietary blend that stops us knowing how much of each ingredient is in the supplement – and by extension how effective it is.

Side Effects

The two main nutrients in this product that could cause a problem are Yohimbe and Syneprhine.

First of all, the Yohimbe’s an issue. We don’t know how much is in this product and if it’s anywhere over 0.2mg/kg body weight you could be at risk of experiencing anxiety, hypertension and gastrointestinal distress.

The Synephrine is just as bad. When being used with caffeine, or caffeinated herbs like Green Tea, synephrine has been seen to cause an array of side effects such as:

  • Headaches
  • Light-Headedness
  • Nausea
  • Raised Blood Pressure
  • More

All things you definitely don’t want to experience on your cut.

Shredz Burner Review Conclusion

Overall this is a pretty poor fat burner. Although it contains ingredients like Green Tea and Caffeine, it all comes in a proprietary blend which makes the effects of this product questionable – as we don’t know how much we’re getting of each.

On top of that the servings aren’t the best. With only two a day there’s only so much your body can get out of it, the supply needs to be constant so you are constantly burning fat.

The side effects are another concern, as it contains Yohimbe and Synephrine, there’s a large risk of you having negative side effects from taking this product.

In closing, our advice would be to look elsewhere, this product needs a lot more fine-tuning before it is fit for public consumption.
