Whether you are looking to get cut after bulking up or just generally lose weight, a good quality fat burner could be crucial.
There are a whole variety now available on the market and from Beast comes 2 Shredded with the slogan “Get Energized & Burn Fat”.
As well as assisting with fat loss, 2 Shredded also looks to suppress hunger, inhibit water retention & bloating and boost energy.
Ingredients and how they work
2 Shredded recommends taking one to two capsules twice a day to start with as you assess your tolerance. You can then increase to two to three capsules twice a day.
There are some good ingredients, such as green tea, caffeine and Thermodiamine, however others need further research in humans. The fact there are two proprietary blends is disappointing, especially as it is always good to know how much caffeine is being served up if you are also taking a stimulant-based pre-workout as well.
Also it is worth consulting with your doctor, nutritionalist or dietitian about octopamine as it is listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s prohibited list.
Iodine (Potassium Iodide) – This essential mineral can help cause an increase in thyroid stimulating hormone to counteract the slow metabolism if given in large doses.
Chromium (Chromium Polynicotinate) – This mineral, which can be found in broccoli and grapes, can decrease appetite and suppress the cravings for carbohydrates.
2 Shredded Thermogenic Blend (Phyllemblin, White Willow Bark Extract, Caffeine Anhydrous, Green Tea Powder , Thermodiamine, Octopamine Hcl, Naringin Extract, Rauvolfia Canescens L., Lipolide, cAMP) –
Phyllemblin (Amla Fruit powder) is an antioxidant and it appears to triglyceride and cholesterol reducing properties.
The salicin in white willow bark has been studied as a potent anti-inflammatory agent.
The catechins that are found in green tea increase levels of the fat-burning hormone norepinephrine and then keep them elevated to boost the thermogenic process.
Caffeine works by boosting the body’s metabolism and stimulating energy levels.
Thermodiamine, a trademarked version of evodiamine, has has anti-obesity effects as it reduces your fat uptake, while it also regulates your body temperature and helps suppress hunger.
Octopamine is a stimulant which appears to increase fat metabolism – although it is currently banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
The flavonoid naringin has been shown to reduce chlorestrol in rats.
Rauvolfia Canescens is similar to yohimbine as it inhibits alpha-2 adrenoceptors which suppress fat metabolism.
Lipolide is another trademarked ingredient which contains sclareolide, a chemical that enhances cAMP
Cyclic Adenosine‐3’‐5’‐Monophosphate, a compound that stimulates the release of triglycerides.
Diuretic Blend (Horsetail Extract, Dandelion Extract) – Horsetail extract appears to increase urine output, while dandelion extract has shown promise as a diuretic in studies. The two ingredients combine to prevent water retention.
Vanadium Citrate – Although there is research showing vanadium lowers blood glucose and prevents cravings, one study highlighted a rise in triglyceride concentrations.

- Proprietary blends
2 Shredded review conclusions
2 Shredded has quickly gathered a loyal following of users and it is easy to see why.
There is a good core of ingredients within 2 Shredded that will help you achieve your goals, although the fact the majority are packed into proprietary blends means it is unclear how much you are getting.
Some of the other ingredients really need more research into their effectiveness in humans, while octopamine is on WADA’s banned list (definitely worth being aware of if you are an elite sportsperson).
The inclusion of a diuretic means you can expect a few visits to the bathroom as you’d expect – although you would be surprised at the number of people are shocked by this.
