BSN N.O.-Xplode 2.0 Review

|

When it comes to pre workout supplements, NO Xplode has been regarded as the benchmark for some time.

It was one of if not the very first supplements of this type, aiming to increase you workout intensity, focus and endurance.

BSN the company behind it, wasn’t content to rest on it laurels, instead they work on refining and improving the formula and N.O. Xplode 2.0 is the result.

Here we’ll take a close up view of N.O. Xplode and also BSN.

About the Company

BSN is the acronym for Bio-engineered Supplements and Nutrition inc. The company was founded in 2001, with their mission statement to provide high quality, cutting edge and most importantly for you and I, result producing supplements.

They’ve accomplished this and for their efforts have been rewarded not only with loyal customers, but they’ve also racked up 35 industry awards in the last 6 years.

That’s more than any other company in the same period and says a lot about the quality of their products, especially considering they are a relatively young company.

N.O. Xplode overview

NO X was created with one major goal in mind. To rev you up for you workouts. No ifs, buts or maybes.

The new NO X 2.0 however has been reinforced so that it now still gives you the stamina and endurance for your workout, but it also aids in muscle growth, fat burning and vascularity (blood flow) helping nutrients reach tissue and giving you “the pump”.

The Ingredients and how they work

N.O.Xplode can be broken down into 5 separate formulas, all containing proven amino acids, vitamins and minerals. To read about all of the individual ingredients and their benefits would waste valuable time you could be spending in the gym. Instead, I’ll give you a quick breakdown of the formulas and how they work.

bsn-no-xplode-supplement-factsAdvanced Strength & Performance Matrix

This is a proprietary blend of amino acids and vitamins. It includes 5 different forms of Creatine and Beta Alanine as well as others. The use of 5 sources of Creatine is unique and ensures a sustained release throughout your workout, instead of starting out dialed in and slowly winding down.

You really will see the difference in you focus and performance.

Ener-Tropic Xplosion

The main ingredients of this matrix are L-Tyrosine, Taurine, Glucuronolactone, Methylxanthine better known as Caffeine. As you’ll already know from our other reviews, these all assist you in focus and awareness.

If, like the author you aren’t a fan of stimulant based pre workout supplements, the good news is that BSN offer a Caffeine free version of NO Xplode!

N.O. (Nitric Oxide) Meta-Fusion

The people at BSN have incorporated L-Arginine and L-Citrulline into this ingredient because they are both precursors to Nitric oxide production essential for blood vessel dilation and the pump. Arginine is also needed to produce Creatine and the synthesis of ATP. Citrulline, has the honor of being a precursor to our body’s production and use of Arginine.

By adding both into one blend, it ensures optimum Nitric oxide, Creatine and ATP production and it’s efficient use.

Phospho-Electrolyte Composite

There are three different phosphates (salts) in this blend. They promote a balance of the body’s electrolytes during heavy physical activity.

Glycerol Polymer Complex

Glycerols are important for muscle flexibility and explosive power, especially during contraction. NO Xplode contains 3 Glycerols to further enhance your workout performance.

Like I said NO Xplode doesn’t just pack a punch, it’s absolutely packed with ingredients to put you at the top of your game.

Dosage

BSN recommend starting out with one scoop in 5 or 6 ounces of water to assess your tolerance to it and increasing to a maximum 3 scoops in 15-18 ounces of water as you become accustomed to it and its effectiveness is less pronounced.

Taste and Mix-ability

These two are possibly the Achilles’s heel of NO Xplode. The most common complaint about it is the taste and that applies to all flavors.

There are 9 flavors to choose from however, in the caffeine free formula only two are offered so far.

Nearly all user reviews I’ve read state that it’s extremely sweet and some complain of a chemical after taste, especially with the Fruit Punch flavor.

If you are trying this for the first time, my advice is to mix it according to the instructions and if it’s too sweet for you, add some more water. Problem solved.

Also because of so many complaints about taste, I recommend you buy a small 10 serve pack to try out before investing in a larger one.

The mix-ability also leaves a little to be desired, with a grainy residue settling down into the bottom of your shaker. This isn’t a problem unique to NO Xplode, as other pre workout supplements have the same problem.

Again more water and some vigorous shaking should solve this.

Price

You can buy NO Xplode in 10, 20, 30 and 50 serving packs. There are currently some huge discounts available, with the best being the buy 2 get 1 free deal at Bodybuilding.com with the mid range 30 serve packs selling at 3 for $51.54 or $0.57 per serving. That’s an incredible saving of over 60 percent.

But….you knew there was going to be a but didn’t you? As your tolerance to NO Xplode increases, so does the dosage you need before a workout or any other time for that matter, therefor increasing the cost per dose by up to 3 times.

Warnings

There are a number of conditions that may be aggravated by taking NO Xplode. BSN have given a comprehensive list on their packaging an I urge anyone considering using this supplement to seek the advice or your doctor first.

Below is the warning copied Verbatim from a NO Xplode tub.

BSN N.O.-Xplode 2.0 Review Conclusion

Although there is the common complaint of taste and mix-ability, these are not unique to NO Xplode, as most pre workouts have the same problem.

There are some concerns regarding possible aggravation of health problems and symptoms however, anyone undertaking physical training should take responsibility and consult with their doctor before using any supplement.

With the anecdotal and long established scientific evidence of the ingredients, I have no doubt that NO Xplode lives up to BSN’s claims and recommend you try it.

The only disclaimer I make is that you try the small packs first until you find one that is palatable.
