DyNo is RSP Nutrition’s pre-workout supplement. It comes in three flavors – Fruit Punch, Lemonade, and Wild Berry.

This product is marketed as “the most comprehensive pre-workout”, but it’s the ingredient list that determined how effective a supplement is. We’ve analyzed all of its contents, to save you time and effort in making a decision on DyNo.

RSP Nutrition are a supplements company that prides itself on inspiring “customers to live healthier, more active lifestyles and achieve their fitness goals”.

They market a range of products, from pre-workouts to post-workout supplements.

The Ingredients and How They Work

An instant positive when looking at DyNo’s ingredient list is that you can see the amount of each individual ingredient – none are hidden inside any blends.

However, there are some cause for concerns. DyNo contains potentially harmful ingredients, such as Bitter Orange Peel (named Citrus Auranium).

RSP Nutrition have started badly here. Beta-Alanine is a modified version of alanine (an amino acid) – although it’s shown to enhance muscular endurance, it can cause paresthesia in doses over 0.8g-1g.

Paresthesia is a tingling on the skin of your face, chest, hands, and extremities. It’s not life threatening, but it’s uncomfortable enough to ruin your workout in the gym.

As DyNo contains 2,000mg of this ingredient, you’re almost certain to experience this side effect. We recommend staying away from Beta-Alanine to avoid paresthesia.

Arginine AlphaKetoglutarate (AAKG) 

This is a mixture of Alpha-Ketoglutaric acid and the salt of Arginine. This ingredient is believed to enhance muscular endurance, but studies have shown that it doesn’t deliver this benefit.

The only positive about this ingredient, is that it’s not part of a blend so you know exactly how much is contained in DyNo – as it’s ineffective, you wouldn’t want most of this pre-workout to be filled with it.


This is an organic acid that contains sulfur. It’s most commonly used to reduce cramping, due to it’s ability to improve blood flow.

There’s no negatives to having this in DyNo, but RSP Nutrition could’ve made this product more beneficial by replacing L-Taurine with Citrulline Malate – Citrulline Malate is one of the best ingredients you can find in pre-workouts, as it boosts nitric oxide production, delivering intense muscle pumps while you lift weights.

Choline Bitartrate

Also known simply as Choline, this molecule is believed to boost mental function (memory and reaction time) and endurance.

However, there’s no evidence that Choline provides these benefits – studies have shown that it’s not effective in improve cognition or anaerobic running capacity.

Ultimately, this is another ineffective ingredient in DyNo.

This is definitely the best ingredient in DyNo. Caffeine’s been proven to improve strength, endurance, and mental function (memory and reaction time) – all great benefits to help you smash a workout.

It’s also one of the safest nutrients out there, used in countless products around the world on a daily basis, like tea and coffee. The only thing to look out for with Caffeine is the amount you consume.

The reccomended daily allowance (RDA) for Caffeine is 400mg. DyNo contains 300mg, so it’s on the border of being too large for one serving.

You should look for a pre-workout that contains 150-200mg of Caffeine, so you can assess your tolerance first – and then you can decide to increase your Caffeine intake if you handle this serving size well.


This compound has shown to reduce decline in mental function (memory and reaction time) and increase strength. However, here’s the problem with DyNo.

For Alpha-GPC to be effective, you need to consume a dose of at least 300mg (ideally 500-600mg). DyNo only contains 200mg, so this ingredients been underdosed – meaning you might not experience its full benefits.

Also, Alpha-GPC comes with side effects, such as heartburn, headache, insomnia and dizziness. We recommend that you stay away from this ingredient, to ensure you don’t experience any unwanted side effects.

RSP Nutrition should’ve replaced this ingredient with L-Theanine, as it works in synergy with Caffeine to form a ‘smart-caffeine’ – this provides enhanced benefits of caffeine (improved strength, endurance, and mental function) without the risk of jitters and energy crashes.

Citrus Aurantium (Bitter Orange Peel)

Also know as Synephrine, it’s a molecule that’s posesses similar fat burning effects to Ephedrine – this is a problem, as Ephedrine’s been banned in the UK for causing harmful side effects, and Synephrine has known to cause side effects too.

Studies show that Bitter Orange Peel caused participants to suffer from heart palpitations, headaches, sweating, and anxiety – you should stay away from this ingredient to avoid similar side effects.

We don’t see any reason for Bitter Orange Peel to be part of a pre-workout supplement – it’s used for it’s fat burning properties, but there are already top quality fat burners on the market, so there’s no need for DyNo attempting to offer this benefit.

DyNo should’ve focused on making DyNo a specialized pre-workout supplement with specific benefits to aid your training session. An ingredient like Creatine Monohydrate would’ve benefited you more here, as it’s proven to boost strength and endurance.

Black Pepper Extract

This is a great ingredient to have in any supplement, as it boosts the absorption rate of other ingredients it’s consumed with – meaning it can boost the overall effectiveness of a product.

It doesn’t provide any specific benefits that will improve your training session, but it doesn’t come with any negatives either.


DyNo contains mostly ineffective ingredients. Caffeine is the only nutrient that helps improve your workout.

Side Effects

DyNo has a few ingredients that can cause side effects – especially Bitter Orange Peel, which can be as harmful as Ephedrine (which is banned).

This pre-workout supplement by RSP Nutrition is very likely to be ineffective – its ingredients suggest it wont deliver many benefits to help you smash your training session.

The only ingredient that’s geared to improve your workout is Caffeine – which is a great addition to any pre-workout supplement, due to its ability to boost strength, endurance, and mental function.

You should look out for key ingredients for a pre-workout, such as Creatine Monohydrate (improves strength and endurance), as well as  Citrulline Malate & Beetroot Extract (both promote intense muscle pumps).
