When looking at FitMiss Ignite’s ingredients list, we immediately see a problem. This pre-workout is made up of one big proprietary blend. But you might be wondering, what is a proprietary blend?

A proprietary blend is a mixture of numerous different ingredients that are shown to the customer under one quantity. The problem is, that you’ll never know the exact measurements of each individual ingredient – without knowing the quantities of each nutrient, you can’t be sure of the product’s effectiveness.

  • Choline Bitartrate – Choline Bitartrate is a molecule that’s believed to boost mental function (memory and reaction time). However, studies have shown that it’s not effective in delivering this benefit.

  • Taurine – This is an organic acid containing sulfur that’s found in meats. It’s shown to reduce muscle cramping by improving your blood flow.
    However, it’s effective at doses of 500mg-2,000mg. This is a problem, as you can’t be sure of exactly how much Taurine is in FitMiss Ignite, meaning you might not even experience its full benefits.

  • L-Carnitine – This ingredient is naturally made in your body, and has proven to boost your mental function (memory and reaction time).
    However, it’s only effective in doses between 500mg-2,000mg – this is a problem as you can’t be certain how much is in FitMiss Ignite as it’s part of the proprietary blend.

  • Beetroot Extract – This is one of the best ingredients in FitMiss Ignite. It contains a high amount of nitrates, which are important in raising your nitric oxide.
    Nitric Oxide is important as it’s involved in vasodilation – a higher nitric oxide level leads to increased blood flow, resulting in great muscle pumps in the gym.
    Beetroot Extract is a great addition to any pre-workout supplement, and you should definitely look out for it on your search for a quality product.

  • Hawthorn Berry – Also known as Crataegus pinnatifida and Chinese Hawthorn, it’s a berry that’s traditionally used to improve heart heath, but nothing’s been proven in any studies.
    However, it’s probably been used in FitMiss Ignite as it’s believed to block lipid absorpion (fat absorption) promoting fat loss – but this hasn’t been proven in any studies either.
    The worrying thing is that this ingredient is in the proprietary blend, meaning most of the blend could be made up of Hawthorn berry, resulting in a mostly ineffective product.
    MusclePharm could have replaced this ingredient with something that would’ve benefitted you, such as Creatine Monohydrate, which boosts your physical strength and endurance in the gym.

  • Agmatine Sulfate – Agmatine is sourced from L-Arginine through a chemical process known as decarboxylation (which is the removal of a carboxylic acid group). Dissonantly though, it has no effect on your nitric oxide levels.
    Instead, it’s believed to boost your mental function (memory and reaction time) and alleviate pain, although there isn’t much evidence to prove this. Interestingly, it’s used to treat drug addiction and protect patients from strokes, but does this benefit you in a pre-workout supplement? Not really.
    This is another ineffective ingredient that’s part of the proprietary blend – it’s taking up space where a more beneficial nutrient could have used, such as L-Citrulline, which raises your nitric oxide levels resulting in intense muscle pumps in the gym.

  • Caffeine – This is definitely one of the best ingredients in FitMiss Ignite. Caffeine is a powerful stimulant that’s proven to deliver improved physical strength and endurance, as well as enhanced mental function (memory and reaction time).
    However, there’s one problem with FitMiss Ignite. It’s inside a proprietary blend.
    Although Caffeine is one of the safest nutrients out there, it can cause side effects if consumed in large doses. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for Caffeine is set at 400mg – you don’t know the exact amount of Caffeine in FitMiss Ignite, meaning you’re at risk of suffering from side effects like jitters and insomnia.
    We strongly recommend that you look for a pre-workout that gives you the exact amount of Caffeine contained, to avoid any unwanted side effects (150mg per serving is the perfect amount).

  • Huperzine A – Huperzine A is a compound extracted from herbs, but we know that it’s heavily processed in laboratories. It’s believed to have cognitive enhancing properties, but there isn’t any evidence to back these claims.
    However, this ingredient comes with the risk of numerous side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, sweating and high blood pressure. As it’s not even been proven to deliver any benefits, it’s definitely worth avoiding this product.
    It’s also worth noting that Huperzine A is part of a proprietary blend, meaning there could be a high amount of this contained in FitMiss Ignite, leading to increased risk of experience side effects.
